Ville Hiltula Quartet ( Netherlands ) was a tango quartet based in Netherlands. The members of the group played together for years in various formations, including world renowned Sexteto Canyengue.

Having an extensive collection of traditional danceable tango in their repertoire they also liked to play Astor Piazzolla´s music as well as the music of some modern tango composers.

Ville HILTULA (bandoneón) & Anke STEENBEKE (piano) was a tango duo based in Netherlands/Belgium. They played together for many years and performed in various formations in Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Ireland. Duo´s repertoire covered a wide range of Argentine tango styles. Having an extensive collection of traditional danceable tango in their repertoire they also liked to play Astor Piazzolla´s music, as well as the music of some modern tango composers.

¡NoEsTango! was an international tango quartet based in Belgium. All from different countries and musical backgrounds, they came together to present an authentic passionate interpretation of Argentinean tango music in different styles from traditional to modern. They performed actively in various venues around the Europe with exciting contemporary tango repertoire for the concert venues, as well as a wide selection of traditional danceable tango music for the milongas.

Perrito Caliente was a contemporary tango ensemble based in France, in which a new generation of talented musicians put its marks on the tango tradition. Perrito Caliente´s repertoire covered a wide range of different tango styles. The group liked to push the borders of traditional tango music by playing mainly contemporary newly written music, but its repertoire also covered traditional tango and tango nuevo.

Ville Hiltula & Quarto Quartet was a special tango project based in Bulgaria, in which Ville HILTULA united with the musicians of the QUARTO QUARTET, renowned Bulgarian chamber music group from Sofia. This unique tango ensemble had its debut in February 2012 when they played at the Bulgaria Hall in Sofia, Bulgaria. The repertoire covered wide range of different tango styles including traditional tangos, music of Astor Piazzolla and also new contemporary tango music in various different instrument line-ups.

Sexteto Canyengue was a world renowed tango ensemble from Netherlands. It was founded in 1988 by Dutch bandoneonists Carel Kraayenhof and Leo Vervelde. The group was working in various formations over the years, and was active until 2015.

 

Carel Kraayenhof became known worldwide in 2002 after performing in the royal wedding ceremony of the crown prince of Netherlands, His Royal Highness Prince Willem Alexander with Princess Maxima Zorreguieta of Argentina.

 

Ville Hiltula was a member of the group 10 years between 2005-2015. He recorded two albums with the ensemble and performed all over the world in the big concert venues, including several TV performances, twice graced by the precense of The Dutch Royal Family. They also performed for Dalai Lama.

 

In 2005 Ville performed with Sexteto Canyengue in Buenos Aires, Argentina in several well-known tango venues, including the 100th anniversary concert of Osvaldo Pugliese, together with another world renowned tango ensemble Roberto Alvarez y Su Color Tango.

 

While working with Sexteto Canyengue Ville has had the priviledge to work with many world renowned artists such as Roberto Alvarez y Su Color Tango, Alfredo Marcucci, Dutch actor Karel De Rooij, Dutch cellist Quirine Viersen, world renowned conductor Kristian Järvi with his Absolute Ensemble, Dutch pop group Blof, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, The Hague Philharmonics & The Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra, among many others.

All from different countries and musical backgrounds, they came together to present an authentic passionate interpretation of Argentine tango music in different styles from traditional to modern tango. The group performed actively around Europe in Netherlands, Belgium, France, UK, Finland & Bulgaria, including venues and festivals such as De Doelen (Rotterdam), Tropentheater (Amsterdam), Rasa (Utrecht), Gergiev Festival (Rotterdam), Barbican (London), Varna Summer Festival (Varna), Bulgaria Hall (Sofia).
